Summary Description: This position maintains existing code and builds new programs in support of a large project or small enhancement/production ticket level of effort. This position will assist in the development of cost-effective information technology solutions by creating new applications and modifying existing software applications. In addition, this position will establish coding standards and best practices, ensures these are being followed and promotes code re-use within the team.


  • In accordance with standards, creates technical specs and programs required to deliver those functions.

  • Reviews code changes for completeness, scalability and adherence to existing patterns.

  • Plans/writes test scripts and executes those scripts as part of a comprehensive Systems Test.

  • Updates multiple system documentation as final step in development process. The incumbent helps to ensure other teammates can support the application in the event of turnover or job change.

  • Completes emergency support tasks to bring applications back online for which the Lead Application Developer has oversight.

  • Designs new applications and modifying existing software applications. features for implementation

  • Completes a variety of project construction/testing tasks in support of major upgrades and large projects and complete development Tasks in conformity with established Patterns.

  • Works collaboratively with external vendors to achieve common objects, goals and results.

  • Takes full responsibility for multiple applications from inception to release

  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Database Administrators, Architects, and QA to complete business initiatives

  • Mentors developers to help increase their development capabilities

  • Provides estimates for work the team needs to do and may and defines the resources needed for a project and by which team.

  • Orchestrates delivery of tasks and follows up to ensure deadlines are met

  • Responsible for the coding standards of the department and ensuring they are applied so that work is done efficiently and of the highest quality.

  • Promotes code re-use within the team and helps define the tools and frameworks used by the department

  • Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned


Education :

  • BS/BA in computer science or related software engineering (required)

Experience :

  • Experience using Visual Studio 2012, 2013 and 2015 and integrating with Team Foundation Server for source control, continuous integration, and code reviews

  • Experience developing T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and working with SQL Server

  • Experience with Tibco products a plus

  • 7+ years' of experience as a Lead Application Developer


  • Expert understanding of Object-oriented programming and how to create applications that are easy to extend and maintain

  • Expert knowledge of .NET frameworks 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5, C#, VB.NET at http://vb.net/ , ASP.NET at http://asp.net/ Web Forms and MVC, XML, JavaScript, jQuery, Web Services and SOA, WCF, ADO.NET at http://ado.net/ and IIS

  • Great analytical and trouble shooting skills

  • Passionate about technology and willingness to continually improve skill set

  • Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Visio (as applicable)

  • Ability to communicate well with the general public and experience in establishing and maintaining an effective working relationship with management, vendors, and co-workers
